First Regiment of US Riflemen
[edit]I have seen elsewhere that the First Regiment of US Riflemen was consolidated into the 6th US Infantry at the end of the War of 1812. Is this true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.167.255.156 (talk) 00:48, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

I note the text, "*** WRONG Totally inaccurate description of the battle." I lack the skill to correct this problem. I hope some else can. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.167.171.248 (talk) 20:18, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Original date of organization
[edit]The articles says that the regiment dates from 1812. An article at the U.S. Army Center of Military History site ([1]) says that the regiment was organized on 12 April 1808. Donald Albury 17:26, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
